The armrest not only functions as a place to rest your arms, but it also serves as a storage compartment. When you open the lid, you’ll find a large paper holder clip on its bottom side and a clear indication that Lynk & Co was designed in Gothenburg, Sweden.


The placement of the emergency lights could be improved, as it requires some adjustment. These lights are located on the dashboard near the rear-view mirror and are quite small, making them somewhat difficult to find quickly.

Just beneath them lies the internal camera, a fun little feature. For those who value privacy, there’s a discreet cover that can be slid across it.


The seats offer a comfortable, plush experience with minimal lateral support, which means driving every day is a delightful experience, plus entering and exiting the car is effortless. However, when taking turns at moderate speeds, there’s a tendency to shift around quite a bit.


In the segment, the back seats of the Lynk & Co 02 provide ample room, comfortably accommodating our 1.95 m (6’4″) tester without any issues. While it may not be vast, it offers significantly more space than many competitors in this class.


In the area behind you, there’s scarcely any luxury items. However, you will find an adjustable rest for your arm along with cup holders. Additionally, it offers both USB-C and USB-A charging ports, which is quite intriguing.


Storage & practicalities

For a vehicle of its size, the Lynk & Co 02 offers a reasonably spacious trunk, totaling approximately 14.5 cubic feet when the back seats are in place. Additionally, it has an area beneath the main trunk’s floor for stowing small items.


To clarify, the back seats in this vehicle provide ample room for passengers, implying that when they’re folded flat, it transforms into a generous cargo area. The Lynk & Co 02 boasts a cargo capacity of approximately 47.6 cubic feet, making it convenient for transporting large items with caution, given its sloping roofline.

The cargo space in the front of the Lynk & Co 02, often referred to as a frunk, isn’t particularly practical since it only offers 0.53 cubic feet of storage. However, it can still be useful for holding small items that you prefer not to keep inside the cabin for various reasons.

Driving experience

The Lynk & Co 02 offers a serene and comfortable ride, prioritizing relaxation over an exhilarating driving experience. It seems to shun any hint of sportiness and has no inclination towards aggressive cornering maneuvers.

The steering wheel feels quite light, even too light for some, which makes it easier to handle in congested traffic and tight maneuvers. However, this lack of feedback becomes less desirable during longer drives or on winding roads, as it doesn’t provide a clear sense of what the wheels are doing. Although there are adjustable settings to modify the steering feedback, none of them fully eliminate the vague sensation. We found ourselves preferring the sport setting all the time.

The ride on the Lynk & Co 02 is cushioned, making it ideal for handling potholes and bumps, but this softness causes the vehicle to lean significantly when cornering. The amount of body roll can make you feel queasy, especially for those who prefer a more spirited drive. However, if you’re transporting young kids or simply want a comfortable ride, the 02 performs exceptionally well.

As an analyst, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: When it comes to off-roading, the Lynk & Co 02, with a ground clearance of 7.5 inches, is quite capable. However, it’s important to keep in mind that its rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup significantly restricts the types of terrains it can effectively traverse. While it can easily navigate over obstacles, I would advise setting realistic expectations when venturing off the beaten path with this vehicle.

Previously, we pointed out that there’s an irritating black cube positioned near the steering wheel, which tracks your gaze, but fortunately, other driver assistance features aren’t as bothersome. Unfortunately, if you wish to deactivate these features, you’ll need to navigate through numerous screens and menus, making it a rather complicated process. Most automakers make it simpler to disable unwanted driver aids, so this integration could use some improvement.

Tech features

The Lynk & Co 02 is packed with advanced technologies drawn from the collective years of innovation by the Geely family. Although it doesn’t introduce any groundbreaking new features, its price point makes this understandable. Yet, the interior feels fresh and contemporary.

In simple terms, our test model doesn’t currently offer compatibility with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but the dealership mentioned that this feature will be available in our market soon. However, some models are already equipped with this functionality.

As an analyst, I find it noteworthy that the absence of traditional physical buttons in this vehicle design has led to a more integrated central display for most features. While there are elements reminiscent of other manufacturers‘ innovations, they can hardly be dismissed as mere gimmicks.

I must admit, the „Dog mode“ and „Fireplace screensaver“ features, initially pioneered by Tesla, have undeniably caught my attention. Despite their origins, I can’t help but appreciate these thoughtful additions in the Lynk & Co 02 as well.

The camera system in the Lynk & Co 02 is impressive, and even some more expensive models might benefit from studying its integration methods. The picture clarity is outstanding, and it’s simple to adjust the angle for precision and choose the desired viewpoint for display.

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find a constant row of buttons for easy navigation. These buttons remain in place regardless of what’s displayed on the screen. They provide swift access to frequently utilized functions such as seat, climate, and media control settings.

In my electric vehicle, I have a convenient slider menu at the top, similar to a smartphone’s layout, which is packed with preset settings. This allows me to easily adjust various functions that I frequently need quick access to, keeping them just a touch away.

The climate control system can be quite confusing to operate due to its complexity, requiring some time to get accustomed to. Not only does it allow adjusting the direction of airflow from the vents, which is more intricate than traditional vent handles, but also its interface is crowded with numerous labels and functions that are densely packed together, making navigation challenging while moving around.

The primary interface bears a strong resemblance to a smartphone’s menu, and the labeling on the buttons is large and easy to understand. The touchscreen operates exceptionally smoothly, and overall, the in-car entertainment system is incredibly user-friendly.

The built-in audio system is by Harman/Kardon. While it may not offer top-notch sound quality and clarity, it provides adjustable settings and fine-tuning capabilities, enabling you to achieve your preferred sound tones.


The onboard navigation system offers a user-friendly design and performs well. It boasts an extensive library of charging stations en route, factoring in these stops when estimating your expected arrival time.

The Lynk & Co 02 model includes adjustable interior lighting that can be customized in various colors. You have the option to create a two-tone gradient or even a lively light display if you prefer. Once upon a time, these advanced features were exclusive to high-end luxury cars; however, it’s heartening to see such amenities becoming available in more budget-friendly options too.

As an analyst, I found that the steering wheel sports a customizable button on its left side, yet its functionalities are rather restricted. It would have been more convenient if this button could be programmed to navigate directly to the driver aid menu, but at least it offers some degree of personalization.

Ride comfort

The suspension of the Lynk & Co 02 is designed for a comfortable daily drive, yet it tends to sway when turning corners or hitting bumps. Most rough surfaces are effectively absorbed, making the vehicle glide smoothly over them, but smaller irregularities may still cause some disruption inside the car, affecting the overall serene driving experience. Considering the intended use of the car, this focus on comfort over cornering performance is quite appropriate.

Cabin noise

The Lynk & Co 02 doesn’t have top-notch noise cancellation. At any speed, there’s a moderate level of wind and tire sounds that filter into the cabin. However, it’s not so excessive as to be a major drawback. Compared to many other models, it’s somewhat noisy, but its quiet interior (with minimal squeaks and rattles) compensates for a reasonable level of comfort inside.
